Today in training we continued the intensity theme. We wanted to be working intensely over short periods with minimal rest in between those periods.
Set 1 Kumite both sides followed by Kanku Dai Kata
Set 2 Kumite both sides followed by Jion Kata
Set 3 Kumite both sides followed by Gankaku Kata
Set 4 Kumite both sides followed by Meikyo Kata
Set 5 Kumite both sides followed by Bassai Sho Kata
Tabata drill (16 rounds):
Press ups X 2
Sit ups X 2
Squats X 2
Burpees X 2
Sprints X 2
Jumping Jacks X 2
Freestyle combo LHS X 2
Freestyle combo RHS X 2
Gojushiho Sho kata 3 times slowly. I then focussed on the transitions and power generation at the end of each step. The last performance was full speed and power.
To finish we did some slow core work from lying on our back again with the addition of a 30 sec plank.
